Book Analysis Essay: Outline

I. Introduction

• Why is this important/relevant? Five Nights at Freddy's is really popular, and there is increasing interest in the two books based on the game. It can be really hard to figure out which book is scarier. And Halloween is approaching, so some people want to give out scary books. This is the proof that the parents should hand out The Twisted Ones for Halloween. 
• Thesis: Although the are both pretty scary, I think that The Twisted Ones is scarier than The Silver Eyes.
• The villains are scarier because they're twisted.
• The events are scarier because they're more death-related.
• The characters are risking more because no one is coming to get them.

II. Topic Paragraph 1

• Main argument: the villains are scarier because they're twisted.
• Evidence 1: “One moment it was a groomed and agile figure covered in silver hair, the next a tattered metal framework partly coated in translucent skin.”  (TTO p. 169)
• Evidence 2: “three animatronic animals: a bear, a rabbit, and a chicken, all standing as tall as adults, maybe taller. Their bodies were segmented like artists’ models.” (TSE p. 56)

III. Topic Paragraph 2

• Main argument: the events are scarier in The Twisted Ones because they're more death-related.
• Evidence 1: Charlie sacrifices herself to the twisted animatronics. (TTO p.1988)
• Evidence 2: the teenagers explore Freddy’s. (TSE p. 36)

IV. Topic Paragraph 3

• Main argument: The characters are risking more because in The Silver Eyes they know that if they survive long enough, someone will come get them. But in The Twisted Ones, they’re just by themselves and no one is there to save them.
• Evidence 1:  the teenagers and; the police try to get out of the new freddtas alive(p.274)          
• Evidence 2: The police break into Freddy’s to save the teenagers. (TSE p. 449)

V. Conclusion

• Thesis: The Twisted Ones is scarier then The Silver Eyes
• Sub-arguments: The villains are scarier. The events are scarier. The characters are risking more.
• It’s scarier than the silver eyes 
• Concluding thought/wowza!: the parents should hand out The Twisted Ones for Halloween because it is scary.
